East Africa Association for Research and Development (DAD) organized a workshop under the theme “Environmental Degradation in Somalia: Its Impact on Stability and Social Cohesion” on 13-11-2023. Dr. Dr. Shariff Osman, an Environmental Expert and Director of the Institute of Peace, Water and Environment at Mogadishu University made a useful presentation and played a crucial role in facilitating the workshop. His expertise and insights have contributed significantly to the discussions and understanding of the threats posed by environmental degradation in Somalia.
The workshop was a valuable platform for discussing and addressing the challenges faced by Somalia due to environmental degradation. With participants from civil society, representatives from several federal ministries such as the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and students, the workshop provided a diverse range of perspectives on the issue.
